KEY TRENDS & TAKEAWAYS

FALL 2024 STYLE SUMMARY

NEW YORK — LONDON — MILAN — PARIS

Thank goodness Fall Fashion Month falls (mostly) in February, because it is a fabulous way to brighten an otherwise dreary month. From New York to Paris, with London and Milan in between—this season brought so much to look forward to. Ready to recap?

In Milan, critics complained that the collections were too consumer driven and not daring enough. As a stylist, I personally love when the new collections continue a trend because it brings longevity to my client’s closets. Donatella’s latest collection for Versace was a punk-rock power babe, that some called “confused.” All eyes were on Chloe who’s new designer, Chemena Kamali dreamed up a heavenly new version of the brand’s bohemian roots.

Rumors of the “return of boho” are swirling, and Isabel Marant’s name is popping up as more relevant again. Also on the “love-hate” throwback train, Dior showed mini skirts and 60’s styling that received mixed reviews. Everyone still loves Bottega Veneta. Saint Laurent says we should all be next to nude; stunning but decidedly not for everyone.

So what are the key takeaways for next fall…?

BIG OL’ SLEEVES: Coats, blouses, dresses with dramatic silhouettes were everywhere.

SHEER CLEAR: For a wearable way to do the trend, try a camisole under an organza blouse or a sheer, colored coat.

50 SHADES OF GREEN: Whether you prefer chartreuse, forest, or sage - there’s a green for everyone in the future. Why not style them all together?

GET RED-Y: From oxblood to fire engine brights, red popped off of the runways worldwide.

OTK WADER BOOTS: From Bottega to Dior, Fendi to Chloe - oversized and over the knee boots will be essential for 2024.

BOHO IS BACK: Thanks to Chloe and trends like denim-on-denim gaining in popularity, expect the rise of this relaxed look.

SPARKLE & SHINE: Oversized pailettes and sequins are coming back in unexpected ways. Like, on a sweater or at the end of a coat.

ICE ICE BABY…BLUE: It started with spring and continues into the fall collections - this ethereal shade is having a moment.
